Unit 4:Working with Both Hands
Read the following text carefully and press Continue only after you've read and understood everything.
Working with Both Hands
In this lesson you'll start using two new keys: G and H.
Notice how these keys are located between your two index fingers once your hands are in the base position.
The finger movement for these keys is straightforward:
- press G with the left-hand index finger
- press H with the right-hand index finger
You can see it illustrated below:

Each time you press one of these keys, move the proper index finger, strike the key, then return that finger to its home position. For example: after pressing G your index should travel back to F; after pressing H, return it to J.
The idea is simple, and with a bit of repetition the motion will feel completely natural. Time to practice.
Remember
In this and every typing lesson, keep the basic hand position and move
only the fingers that are required.
Solid fundamentals now make later speed building easier.
