How to place your hands on the keyboard
As you may remember from the previous unit, there are two keys, F and J, that have two raised marks you can feel by touch.
The reason those marks exist is to help you position your hands on the keyboard without looking.
Look carefully at the image below to understand how and where your hands and fingers should rest on the keyboard:
Teclado:US/UK | ||
Left Hand Right Hand | ||
This colored row of keys ASDF and JKL; is called the home row.
Fingers rest on the home row so that it is easy to reach the other keys with small movements of each finger. Learning to reach all the keys takes practice and some time to get used to, but once you master it you will be able to type very fast without looking at the keyboard.
